Hexoid — Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 1, 2026

Hexoid is a macOS application published by Hexapods' Studio ("we", "us"). It connects an Android device to your Mac over a USB cable or your local Wi-Fi network and lets you browse and manage the device's files. This policy describes what data Hexoid handles — and, more importantly, what it does not.

The short version: Hexoid collects nothing. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising, no user account and no server of ours. Everything the app works with stays on your Mac and on your Android device.

Data we collect

None. Hexoid transmits no personal data, usage data, identifiers or diagnostics to us or to anyone else. This corresponds to the “Data Not Collected” declaration on the app's App Store privacy label.

Data the app stores locally on your Mac

To do its job the app keeps a small amount of data on your computer, and only on your computer:

None of this ever leaves your Mac. It is never uploaded, synced or shared. You can remove all of it by deleting the app together with its container and cache folders.

Your files

Files move directly between your Mac and your Android device, over the USB cable or over your local network. Nothing is routed through the internet or through any service of ours. The content of your files is never sent to us or to a third party, and we have no technical ability to access it.

Network use

When you connect a device over Wi-Fi, Hexoid uses your local network to discover the device (mDNS/Bonjour) and to hold an encrypted connection to it. It also runs a server bound to the loopback interface (127.0.0.1) on your Mac, reachable only from your Mac, which the Finder integration uses to reach the app. Hexoid contacts no remote host of ours and performs no background network activity of its own; macOS itself may contact Apple to validate your purchase.

Purchases

The one-time Hexoid Pro upgrade is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment details. The app asks Apple whether the current Apple Account owns the upgrade and stores only that yes/no answer locally. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction.

Diagnostics and support

Hexoid sends no crash reports or usage reports. Nothing about a problem reaches us unless you write to us yourself. If you do contact support, we use the contents of your message — including anything you choose to attach — solely to investigate and answer your request, and we keep that correspondence no longer than needed for that purpose. Please avoid sending us sensitive personal data; we never ask for it.

Third parties

Hexoid embeds no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or tracking SDKs. We do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing to opt out of.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data a company holds about you. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to produce or erase. The data described above lives on your own Mac and is entirely under your control. If you believe we hold data about you nonetheless, write to the address below and we will respond.

Children

Hexoid is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. It knowingly collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If the behavior of the app ever changes in a way that affects your data, we will update this page and the effective date above before that change ships.
